All you need to know about the UK High Potential Individual Visa
The High-Potential Individual Visa route enables individuals who have degrees from a recognised international university on the approved global universities list to come and work for up to two years in the UK. It is a short-term work visa route for those who have demonstrated the potential to contribute to the UK workforce while still in the early stages of their careers.
With a High Potential Individual Visa, you can work in most jobs, be self-employed, and live in the UK with your spouse and children, as long as they also meet the requirements.
To be eligible for the high-potential individual visa category, you don’t need to have a job offer.
Who is eligible to apply for a High Potential Individual Visa?
You can apply for an HPI visa beginning on May 30, 2022, if you graduated from an eligible international university during the previous five years before your application. The Home Office’s Global Universities List details the institutions that qualify. The degree-granting institution must be on the list in relation to the date of your graduation.
Your qualifications must be equivalent to:
- An undergraduate degree in the United Kingdom
- A postgraduate degree in the UK
- A UK PhD or doctorate.
Ecctis (formerly UK NARIC) must verify your qualification’s validity and degree. You must also show English competence and adequate funds to live in the UK.
