Annual Immigration To The United Kingdom Is At An All-Time High
According to official figures of UK annual immigration released on Thursday (24), the balance of immigration Solicitor to the United Kingdom hit a new high of almost 504,000 people in the year ending in June, led by an increase in the number of citizens from outside the European Union (EU).
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) attributed the increase in UK annual immigration after the COVID-19 issue and an increase in the arrival of overseas students attending schools at a distance during the pandemic.
During this era, an estimated 1,100,000 permanent migrants came an increase of 435,00 over the previous year. The majority of those who departed the United Kingdom were EU nationals.
Three new visa programs for Ukrainians, Afghans, and Britons from Hong Kong increased the number of visitors by around 138,000.
“Between June 2021 and June 2022, a series of global events have impacted patterns of international migration. Together, they are unparalleled, according to Guy Lindup, director of the Office of National Statistics Center for International Migration.
“Immigration Solicitor from non-EU countries, particularly students, is driving this growth,” Lindup said. Numerous different factors leading to migration at this time indicate that it is too soon to tell if the current situation will remain.
Immigration-related concerns were a major factor in the 2016 Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom. Former Prime Minister David Cameron failed for years to get an annual immigration credit of less than 100,000.
The Office for National Statistics revealed that emigration and net emigration data, which exclude people coming via illegal methods such as small boats crossing the Channel, were the highest since 1964, when it began collecting emigration statistics. 2015 marked the previous record for net emigration income, which was just over 330,000
