    Dependant Visa UK

A dependant visa allows immediate family members of UK visa holders to enter the country from abroad. Work, study, business, and ancestry visas, among others, permit visa holders to bring family members to the United Kingdom.

Both the PBS dependant visa and the dependent visa are mentioned in the immigration regulations. Both visas let dependent family members join the principal visa holder in the United Kingdom.

Both visas let dependant family members join the principal visa holder in the United Kingdom. PBS Dependent Visas simply refer to the ability of people with points-based visas (such as the Skilled Worker visa) to bring family members to the UK.

    Requirements for Eligibility

You can apply for a Dependant Visa UK if you are a dependent of an individual with a UK work, study, business, or ancestry visa. A dependent is a partner, spouse, or child of the principal visa holder.

Partners must be either married to or in a civil partnership with the principal visa holder, or they must have lived together for at least two years.

Children under the age of 18 may travel to the United Kingdom with their sponsor as dependents. If you are applying as a dependent of an EEA national, please keep in mind that the age of reliance for minors is 21 years old.

It is important to note that different requirements apply depending on the type of UK visa held by the person sponsoring your application. Please contact us for more information.

You will not be able to access public funds as a holder of a dependent visa. Before your application can be approved, you must show that your sponsor (the person in the United Kingdom on whom you wish to become financially dependant) has the means and is willing to help you.

    Visa Requirements for Dependants

If your dependent visa application is approved, you will be granted permission to enter the United Kingdom as well as unrestricted freedom to reside there. Dependant visas have no employment restrictions, so visa holders can work in any field at any skill level.

As was already said, if you have a dependent visa, you won’t be able to use public money.

    Dependant
    Visa To Settlement (ILR)

When the main visa holder is granted indefinite leave to remain (ILR) — often
after five years of continuous residency in the UK — dependant visa holders may
also seek to settle in the United Kingdom. To be eligible for ILR, couples must
be in a real relationship with their partner and intend to maintain the
relationship after applying. They must also be able to support themselves in
the United Kingdom. Children must continue to reside with their parents (unless
boarding school or university), be appropriately supported and housed without
the use of public funds, and not be married, in a civil partnership, or living
    independently.

ILR has numerous advantages, including the
possibility to remain permanently in the United Kingdom without applying for
additional visas. After one year of ILR, you are eligible to apply for British
    citizenship.

    UK Dependant Visa Documentation Checklist

Applicants for dependant visas will be required to submit a variety of
supporting papers. The precise list of required documents will depend on the
type of visa held by the primary applicant and the nature of your relationship
with them. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of the papers or
information you may be required to submit.

    ·      The Global Web Form (GWF) or a Unique Application Number (UAN) for the principal visa applicant (to link the applications together).

    ·        Evidence of identity, such as a passport.

    ·        Relationship documentation with the primary visa holder (e.g., birth certificate, marriage
    certificate, certificate of civil partnership).

    ·        Evidence of dependency, such as proof of enrolment at a boarding school or university, and
letters demonstrating the applicant has the same residence as the primary visa
    holder.

    ·        The monies necessary to meet the financial criterion have been held on deposit for at least the past
28 days, as indicated by the bank statement.

It is imperative that you submit all papers requested by UKVI, since failure to do so may result in a
delay or denial of your application. Consult with one of our immigration
lawyers if you are unsure whether or not you have all the required documentation
to support your UK-dependent visa application. They will verify your
information before you submit your application.
